Healing is a shared journey, a path walked by every human across every culture since the very beginning. Healing takes place across multiple levels: physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and social. We cannot always resolve ailments at the level they appear on. However, we can always work on adjacent levels. Healing is sometimes straightforward and literal, at other times nonlinear and abstract. Sometimes it is a process, and sometimes it is a practice. Sometimes the trajectory is resolution, and sometimes the trajectory is making peace.
Wherever we find ourselves in the healing journey, the important thing to remember is that we don't have to do it alone.
Why I Created Somatique
As someone deeply rooted in the healing arts and movement practices for over a decade, I’ve seen the profound ways intentional care and connection can change lives. Through Reiki, somatic practices, yoga, and sound healing, I’ve learned that healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about skillfully and lovingly engaging our minds and bodies.
Our world comes with innumerable threats, challenges, and discomforts. It is natural and arguably intelligent for our bodies and mines to become defensive and closed off.
However, we are not able to close off to dangers without simultaneously closing off to the flow of energy. This is not to say to expose ourselves to danger, but rather to learn how we can protect ourselves without closing ourselves off.
When our hearts are open, we find the capacity to approach our lives, our relationships, and even our challenges with greater skill. Love isn’t just an emotion; it’s a state of being that allows us to see with clarity, release blockages, and align with our highest potential. At Somatique, I aim to provide Reiki as a practice and a space to support this kind of opening, where healing becomes not only restorative but also expansive. I take an integrative approach, incorporating somatic work, breathwork, meditation, sound, and visualization into the Reiki practice to bring a dynamic, creative, personalized approach to your healing.
My background in cultural anthropology has shown me that across every time and culture, healing and growth are deeply intertwined with community, ritual, and intentionality. Whether in sacred ceremonies or the quiet act of self-reflection, these patterns remind us that we’re not alone in our journeys.
